To use the system, all you have to do is register for free on this website or the smartphone app. Basic option users pay just EUR 1 for every 30 minutes and max. EUR 15 for a full day. BahnCard holders, students and senior citizens enjoy even better prices.

1. Call the telephone number in the red box on the cover of the bike's lock, or use the free Call a Bike app.
2. You will be given a 4-character code to open the lock.
3. Open the cover of the lock, touch the display and enter the code.
4. The lock opens and you can set off.

If you want to stop for a while, you can park your bike by locking it and using the lock's display to confirm that you are taking a break. The release code remains unchanged.

1. Lock the bike at a stand.
2. Follow the instructions on the display.
3. Read the 4-character receipt code and call the number on the cover of the lock again.
4. Follow the instructions you hear. Use your phone's display to enter the receipt code and then the stand's 4-character ID number.

Please note: You can only return your bike to the stand at the station.
